Facebook Shadow-Bans PragerU After ‘Fact-Checkers’ Describe it as Fake News

The conservative non-profit group Prager University, known as PragerU, has been shadow-banned on Facebook after the website’s “fact-checkers” determined one of its most recent videos contained false information, as reported by Breitbart.

The social media giant has “reduced distribution” of PragerU’s posts, thus reducing its overall visibility on users’ timelines and decreasing the amount of promotional posts for the conservative page, after a left-wing “fact-checker” called Climate Feedback described one of PragerU’s videos on polar bears as false.

Climate Feedback is a program of the University of California Merced, which, as a public school, receives taxpayer funding. Climate Feedback is a member of a larger international movement called the “International Fact-Checking Network.” In the video, Climate Feedback claims – without evidence – that PragerU “cherry-picked” its evidence when claiming that there is no indication that the global polar bear population is declining, which is a common claim by those who believe that “global warming” is real.

PragerU has been censored by Big Tech on numerous occasions in recent years. Most famously, the conservative group has clashed with video-sharing giant YouTube after the website censored dozens of its videos, ultimately taking YouTube and its parent company, Google, to court. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ultimately dismissed PragerU’s lawsuit, claiming that YouTube’s bans were not a violation of the First Amendment.
