The World Health Organization has revealed that China is deliberately obstructing the WHO’s efforts to investigate the origins and the cause of the global coronavirus pandemic, as reported by the Daily Caller.
The revelation comes from Dr. Gauden Galea, who serves as the WHO’s representative to China, who said in a statement that China, while conducting its own internal investigation, is refusing to let any representatives from the WHO take part in the process.
“We know that some national investigation is happening,” Dr. Galea said, “but at this stage we have not been invited to join.” When pressed on whether or not China was justified in the decision to obstruct, Dr. Galea said “From our point of view, no.”
China’s decision comes as new information is revealed that seems to confirm the virus’s origins in the Virology Institute of Wuhan, which specializes in research of various viruses and other diseases. When asked if he had seen sufficient evidence to confirm the virus’s origin in the Wuhan institute, President Donald Trump said “Yes, I have. And I think the World Health Organization should be ashamed of themselves, because they’re like the public relations agency for China.”
China has been widely criticized for its mishandling of the virus outbreak, and has come under further scrutiny for shipping out millions of pieces of medical equipment that have been returned or recalled due to being of inadequate quality. Similarly, Director-General of the WHO Tedros Adhanom has faced widespread calls for his resignation over his close relations to the Chinese government.
