Kim Jong-Un, the dictator of North Korea, has been reported as suffering from serious health complications following a surgical procedure, according to the Daily Caller.
Shortly after a U.S. official confirmed the news to CNN, South Korean officials were quick to dispute the claim, saying that they had “no information to confirm regarding rumors about Chairman Kim Jong Un’s health issue,” while also insisting that “no unusual developments have been detected” in the situation.
The surgery was a heart procedure performed “at a villa in the Mount Kumgang resort” in Hyangsan. He had last been seen in public on April 11th, and was conspicuously absent from the public celebrations of the birthday of his grandfather, Kim Il-Sung, on April 15th.
It remains unconfirmed as to whether or not the coronavirus has played a role in Kim’s complications, although there have been long-standing questions about the dictator’s health since before the global pandemic began.
