When is the country going to open?
The resistance freaks want the country to stay closed as long as possible because they think it will hurt Trump and they don’t care about the collateral damage of their political jihad. American companies destroyed and Americans out of work, WHO CARES? Orange man bad.
The narratives, which is very obvious if you read the corporate media, are that 1) Trump knew early on about the virus and 2) we can’t open the country because people will die.
Take a step back and ask yourself, if you are not Trump deranged, what would be the purpose or benefit of ignoring a highly-contagious pathogen that could kill millions of Americans? The left says because Trump cares about money, not human lives. and didn’t want to wreck the economy, but wouldn’t a deadly contagion effect the economy when millions starting dying and people started freaking out? Shouldn’t the president care about the economy? There’s no good reason Trump would ignore these alleged “warnings.” Did congress also get the purported warnings? What were they doing? Oh, they were impeaching Trump.
The fact is that it’s the governors who have the authority to shut down or open their states, not Trump. “First and foremost, states currently retain power to decide who stays home and for how long,” according to an analysis for Lawfare. “Among the powers generally reserved to the states is the authority to quarantine individuals and otherwise protect public health.” Good, let the governors own this.
Now, the usual suspects are lobbying to keep America shut down. The resistance is panicking because Trump is putting together a task force to figure out how to re-open. Writes USA Today:
Trump is set to announce a new task force Tuesday that will focus solely on whether the administration should extend federal social distancing guidelines past May 1 or attempt to reopen parts of the country to blunt the economic consequences of the pandemic.
Dr. Fauci told Jake Tapper on some political snuff show on Sunday it might not be possible to conduct a safe election. “I hope so, Jake,” he said, “I can’t guarantee it.” Why would Tapper ask this? Because Tapper like all of the resistance crew wants to vote by mail or some other shifty means they can hijack for fraud. However, Fauci also said there might be a way for a a rolling opening, “I think it could probably start at least in some ways maybe next month,” Fauci said “We are hoping by the end of the month we can look around and say, ‘OK, is there any element here that we can safely and cautiously start pulling back on.’ If so, do it. If not, then just continue to hunker down.”
“It is not going to be a light switch that we say, ‘OK, it is now June, July, or whatever, click, the light switch goes back on,’” Fauci said. “It’s going to be depending where you are in the country, the nature of the outbreak that you already experienced, and the threat of an outbreak that you may not have experienced.”
“If you just say, ‘OK, it’s whatever, May 1, click,’ turn the switch on, obviously, if you do it in an all-or-none way, there’s an extraordinary risk of there being a rebound,” Fauci added.
Another resistance darling, Big Pharma friend and former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb said, “I think you’re going to see a gradual reopening … where governors and mayors say, ‘Well, businesses can reopen, but you can only bring back 50 percent of your employees that are on any one shift.’ So you force the employers to break up the shifts. Maybe you tell people over the age of 65 to stay home a little longer,” Gottlieb added. “You tell businesses you can’t have meetings more than 10 people. You can’t have conferences. So there’ll be measures put in place to try to limit interactions at the workplace, but allow some work.”
We’ll see. Let’s remember that the purpose of these stay-at-home exercise is to mitigate the burden on our healthcare system. If states and cities aren’t seeing their hospitals blow up, why can’t they re-open with some mitigating procedures?
Believe all women, unless…ex-Biden aide accuses former Veep of sexual assault
Inconvenient. The corporate media finally reported on the alleged sexual harassment of a former Joe Biden aide. “Tara Reade alleged the assault occurred in the basement of a Capitol Hill office building in the spring of 1993. She filed a police report in Washington on Thursday saying she was the victim of a sexual assault by an unnamed person in 1993, a copy of which was obtained by the AP.”
The police report required the media to step in and spin this and provide cover for sleepy Joe Biden. I don’t know if it’s true but it’s certainly at least as credible as the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh were and we all saw how serious the media took those. A campaign spokesman responded with a statement that said, “What is clear about this claim: it is untrue. This absolutely did not happen.” Plenty of people said the same about Kavanaugh but that didn’t matter, so what’s the difference? Just kidding we all know what the difference is.
In recent weeks, she’s given a handful of interviews saying Biden’s actions went further that she initially disclosed. In an interview with the AP, she detailed a 1993 encounter that she says occurred when she was asked by a supervisor to bring Biden his gym bag as he was on his way down to the Senate gymnasium. She says Biden pushed her against a wall in the basement of a Capitol Hill office building, groped her and penetrated her with his fingers.
“He was whispering to me and trying to kiss me at the same time, and he was saying, ‘Do you want to go somewhere else?’’’ she said. “I remember wanting to say stop, but I don’t know if I said it out loud or if I just thought it. I was kind of frozen up.”
Reade said that she pulled away and Biden looked “shocked and surprised,” and replied, “Come on, man, I heard you liked me.”
Now AP “spoke to five current or former Biden staffers on Sunday, all of whom worked for him at the time of the alleged incident. None recalled such an incident or a report, and neither Toner nor Kaufman could recall Reade. Both said what she had described was out of character for Biden.” Hey, really? Same thing with Kavanaugh and that didn’t stop the hype. Why aren’t the camping out at Joe’s house or following around former staffers to ask leading questions?
But two people the AP spoke with did confirm what Reade told them about the assault, one was told immediately after it happened. But AP continued to contact Biden staffers, almost to help discredit the claims against Biden. What a bunch of hypocrites.
The liberal death star, aka The New York Times, also chipped in with the discrediting effort. Fox News reports, “The New York Times stealth-edited its article on the sexual-assault allegation against Joe Biden by his former Senate staffer Tara Reade just minutes after it was published on Sunday morning, removing all references in a key paragraph to the multiple past accusations by seven women that the former vice president had touched them inappropriately.” And then most of their article focused on President Trump.
According to a copy of the Times’ article saved by the Internet archive Wayback Machine, the Times originally reported: “No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced in the course of reporting, nor did any former Biden staff members corroborate any details of Ms. Reade’s allegation. The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden, beyond the hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable.”
That paragraph now reads: “No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced in the course of reporting, nor did any former Biden staff members corroborate any details of Ms. Reade’s allegation. The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden.”
The Times’ piece contained other references to the several women who have said Biden touched them in inappropriate ways, but deleted any mention of them in the section of its article that asserted that Biden had no “pattern” of misconduct.
Despicable.
