Morning Greatness: Watchdog Chums Waters for Media Sharks with Chinese Virus Report

Good Tuesday morning.

Here’s what is on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president participates in America CARES: Small Business Relief Update
  • 5:00PM  Members of the Coronavirus Task Force hold a press briefing

Holy cannoli, the Chinese virus death “models” get amended again

These models have been bunk from the start and now they are getting back-peddled once more.

One of the nation’s top public health officials suggested Monday that because Americans are taking social distancing recommendations “to heart,” the death toll from the novel coronavirus will be “much, much, much lower” than models have projected.

“If we just social distance, we will see this virus and this outbreak basically decline, decline, decline. And I think that’s what you’re seeing,” said Robert Redfield, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control.

“I think you’re going to see the numbers are, in fact, going to be much less than what would have been predicted by the models,” he said.

Not to curb the hysteria, ABC News’ house epidemiologist, Dr. John Brownstein, of Harvard, said “Projections and models across the board are accounting for a reduction in mobility because of social distancing, so it’s way too soon to declare any kind of victory,” he said. “This is not a moment for people to relax because they feel the models are wrong.”

Here’s the problem. Where did the data come from to make the models? China? We need data to construct models and the original model that was the basis of shitcanning the U.S. economy has already been revised several times but on what is it based? We don’t know and it’s been horribly wrong at predicting outbreaks and the need for medical resources.

And the thing is, we won’t really know if the social distancing worked to “flatten the curve” or if there was no curve at all.

“Watchdog” chums waters for media sharks with a “report”

So yesterday the HHS IG released a report and CNN wants you to know, “The nation’s hospitals are dealing with ‘severe’ and ‘widespread’ shortages of needed medical supplies, hampering the ability to test and respond to the coronavirus pandemic adequately and protect medical staff, according to a new report from a government inspector general.”

The report was based on stale information, almost 2 weeks old at this point and as I am sure you know, things have been moving quite rapidly as the administration tries to handle this unknown Chinese pathogen afflicting our country. BUT, never let an opportunity to go to waste, and mark my words, there’s a stable of “whistleblowers” waiting to go FULL CIARAMELLA once we can come up for air on this. No pun intended.

The report provides an accounting of the shortages faced by hospitals nationwide in trying to obtain equipment for staff and patients, including the avenues some hospitals turned to to acquire those items, like online retailers and paint stores. It also details the challenges hospitals faced in trying to keep up with testing demands and the inconsistent guidance that caused confusion.
The report is not a review of the Health and Human Service Department’s response to the coronavirus outbreak and acknowledges the pandemic is “fast-moving, as are the efforts to address it.”

The IG responsible for the report is “Christi Grimm, the principal deputy inspector general for HHS. Grimm has served in the federal government for more than two decades in both Democratic and Republican administrations.”

Now since we aren’t dilly-dallying about, with RUSSIA boogeymen and fake charges of espionage and RUSSIAN collusion but with a deadly virus killing Americans who die alone as their failing lungs are gasping for air, you would think some kind of problem would be brought to the administration’s attention immediately instead of waiting two weeks to release to the media first. If you think these resistance monsters give two shits about human life and death, you would be very wrong and this play shows you exactly what they care about which is ORANGE MAN BAD.

Guess what? The states are supposed to have a stockpile of medical necessities and the states are supposed to execute their plans on the ground not the feds. The feds suck at this kind of thing, they are slow and clumsy. But state and local officials know their state and city, know the resources and know the people and institutions that make it easier to mobilize in an emergency. Blaming the feds for the execution FUBARs is wrong. And aren’t these freaky-deaky resistance schmucks always screaming and moaning about what a fascist tyrant Trump is? Why on earth would they put him in charge of every city and state in the country? These idiots love federalism when they make their sanctuary city laws but not so much when they are actually responsible something serious, like the health and well-being of their residents.

Here’s Admiral Brett Giroir M.D., Assistant Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services responding to some of the claims in the “report.” Since he’s much more familiar with the logistics, Trump turned the response over to him. CNN left out anything Giroir said in their diary entry, even though he’s the expert.

Trump calls out lying reporter who asked Chinese propaganda-laden question at presser

At the daily WH presser, which is more entertaining than anything on Netflix, a reporter from Phoenix TV based in Hong Kong asked or rather made a statement about how much “help” China is sending the U.S. at the presser on Monday. Trump smelled this a mile away and asked, “Who are your working for, China?” and “Do you work for China, or are you with a newspaper? Who are you with?”

When she responded he asked, “Who owns that, China? Is it owned by China? Is it owned by the state?” The reporter said,  “It’s a private company.”

Well not exactly. “Phoenix TV has been identified by U.S. intelligence agencies as a major overseas outlet used to spread propaganda and promote the policies of the communist government in Beijing.”

Democrats fail in efforts to stop Wisconsin primary

The courts have stopped the Democrats’ efforts to postpone the Wisconsin primary. On Monday, the state Supreme Court blocked the Democratic Gov. Tony Evers’ executive order to delay the primary until June. Shortly after that the SCOTUS “reversed a lower court ruling that had given voters six more days to turn in their absentee ballots — ruling that only those postmarked by Tuesday and arriving by April 13 be counted. Of nearly 1.3 million absentee ballots requested, about 550,000 had not yet been returned as of Monday morning. ”

CNN wants you to know, “The rulings, both on ideological lines by the conservative-led courts, were victories for the Republicans who control the state Senate and Assembly and have opposed all efforts to stop in-person voting from taking place Tuesday because of the coronavirus pandemic.”

“Tomorrow in Wisconsin, thousands will wake up and have to choose between exercising their right to vote and staying healthy and safe,” Evers said in a statement. “In this time of historic crisis, it is a shame that two branches of government in this state chose to pass the buck instead of taking responsibility for the health and safety of the people we were elected to serve.”

I can’t speak to exactly how dangerous this voting exercise will be, I am always suspicious when the Democrats want to interfere with an election.
