Morning Greatness: Media Spread Gossipy Barr Resignation Rumor

Good Wednesday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president departs Las Vegas, NV, en route to Palm Springs, CA
  • President Trump participates in a roundtable with supporters in Rancho Mirage, CA
  • The president delivers remarks at a Joint Fundraising Committee Luncheon in Rancho Mirage, CA
  • President Trump delivers remarks to Rural Stakeholders on California Water Accessibility  in Bakersfield, CA
  • The president delivers remarks at a Keep America Great Rally in Phoenix, Arizona
  • President Trump arrives at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada

Anonymous sources say A.G. Barr thinking about resigning

“Sources” tell ABC News that “Attorney General Bill Barr told people close to Trump Tuesday that he is considering resigning over the tweets.” Right. Do any of these corporate media outlets have any credibility? No, but it keeps the news cycle saturated with hysteria and occasions them a freak out on their political snuff shows and Twitter.  “News” of the Barr resignation was first reported by one the largest purveyors of fake news and gossip: The Washington Post.

Shortly after the resignation rumor was reported the DoJ shot it down. “Addressing Beltway rumors: The Attorney General has no plans to resign,” DOJ spokeswoman Kerri Kupec tweeted.

It would be absolutely tragic if Barr were to leave because Trump would never, ever be able to get a good replacement. The Senate will not confirm any non-derp stater as attorney general after Barr revealed himself to be a hard ass. Too risky. Sure the GOP is in control of the Senate, but most of the senators are simply waiting out Trump, they aren’t on board with his agenda and are probably angry they have to go along with him because their filthy casual constituents support the president. When Trump won the presidency, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell refused to recess the House and the Senate so Trump could make recess appointments. The GOP, for the most part, plans to wait Trump out and quietly undermine him along with the louder, more visible Democrats. There’s no difference between the two establishment party leaderships.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Trump needs to stop tweeting about open criminal cases at the DoJ. Let Barr do his job.

It’s debate night in Vegas, baby

There will be a Democrat debate tonight in Las Vegas, ahead of the Nevada caucus this weekend. Normally I wouldn’t care at all but I am curious how the candidates will treat Bloomberg, who successfully bought his way on to the stage. Bloomberg isn’t even on the Nevada ballot! What he does have going for him is that he is super rich and not as crazy as the establishment-reviled Bernie Sanders. Sure Bloomberg says all kinds of politically incorrect, wacky things that would destroy a Republican but the Democrats don’t believe the things they say they do, they only use purity tests to beat up their opponents. Let them eat cake and all that good stuff.

Early voting has finished in the Silver State. The early votes will be counted (LOL) on Saturday during the traditional-style caucus. Reviews of the early voting were mixed. My mom voted on Sunday, I’m pretty sure she voted for Biden and then Amy! and Mayor Pete. It doesn’t matter, as I told her, as her votes will probably not be counted. Based on the polling, it doesn’t look like any of those candidates will make the threshold.

“I’ve been here for 50 minutes and I’m leaving now,” one voter told “Special Report with Bret Baier,” adding: “I did not get a chance to vote, but if this is how the DNC is going to run it again …” before trailing off in frustration. But another voter described, “things went smoothly and quickly and it was kind of a pleasant process.” Unless the Democrats produce the counts from the different rounds of caucus voting, we will never know who had their vote counted.

The results will be transmitted electronically…or will they? How secure will the transmission be?

In order to send the results electronically, the iPads used by the precinct chairs must be connected to the Internet, whether through a cellular network or local WiFi. This presents a security concern that someone could access the iPads and interfere or manipulate data transfers.

The Nevada Democratic Party what security measures are in place to protect these data transmissions, including the use of passwords, multi-factor authentication and encryption. They said that WiFi available at all the caucus sites had been tested and that the iPads were 4G-enabled in the event WiFi failed. It’s also not clear what security measures were in place to physically protect the devices themselves.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster. I’m rooting for injuries.

I don’t care about the pardons/clemency

So Trump pardoned/gave clemency to a bunch of people yesterday and I just do not care at all. As usual, there was/is a freak out over the pardons but presidents have pardoned all kinds of characters including terrorists, criminal family members, treasonists and campaign donors but the same people melting down over Trump did not say anything when other presidents did it.

USA Today wants you to know, Trump “granted clemency on Tuesday to 11 people who served prison sentences for crimes in high-profile cases ranging from gambling fraud to tax evasion to drug-related charges.”

Trump pardoned Bernard Kerik, Edward DeBartolo Jr., Michael Milken, Ariel Friedler, Paul Pogue, David Safavian, and Angela Stanton. He commuted the sentences of Rod Blagojevich, Tynice Nichole Hall, Crystal Munoz, and Judith Negron.

He should pardon or commute the sentence of every criminal Robert Mueller put away.
