Last week, Project Veritas released videos exposing how a Bernie Sanders field office in Iowa employed Kyle Jurek, an antifa-supporting, Gulag-loving, recently arrested Communist who has alarming opinions about the need to “reeducate” large swaths of American voters in Gulags and how cities need to burn if Sanders doesn’t win the nomination.
“You should expect a f*cking violent reaction,” he told a Veritas undercover journalist earlier this month. “The cops are gonna be the ones that are getting f**king beaten in Milwaukee.”
Tuesday morning, Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe released a new sting video focusing on another revolutionary Communist and Gulag fan in a Sanders field office—this time in South Carolina.
Taken together, the recordings offer a disturbing glimpse into the mindset of perhaps a great many Sanders campaign staffers—perhaps more than anyone would like to admit.
Like his comrade in Iowa, Sanders field organizer Martin Weissgerger is secretly recorded praising the Soviet Union, advocating for a violent overthrow of the United States federal government, and fantasizing about sending Republicans to “re-education camps,” or Gulags.
He at one point even blurts out, “guillotine the rich!”—although it’s difficult to ascertain whether he’s actually serious or just parroting a popular leftist slogan.
Weissgerger also suggested on tape that the United States government be dissolved so Sanders and his hand-picked team can save the climate.
“So, do we just cease – do we just dissolve the Senate, House of Representatives, the Judicial Branch, and have something Bernie Sanders and a cabinet of people, make all decisions for the climate? I mean, I’m serious,” he said. “We can’t address the immediacy of climate change with the current gridlock.”
Like Jurek in Iowa, Weissgerger also advocated for mass protests/revolution if “knock on wood” Bernie loses the election.
“I would like to see yellow vest protests here. Like stateside,” he said, noting that he’s following “numerous groups on Twitter” that are organizing “Yellow Vest” protests in the United States, as were seen in France in 2019.
“I’m ready to start tearing bricks up and start fighting,” Sanders field organizer added. “I’m ready for the “f*cking revolution.”
While undoubtedly a big proponent of gun confiscation once his candidate is elected, the avowed Communist had nothing but praise for the Russian made AK-47.
“Leave it to the Soviets to make the most badass f*cking, most effective gun in the world, AK. The destroyer of imperialism and colonization. That’s why I want to get it tattooed on me,” he gushed.
Weissgerber admitted that he was not yet trained to fight in a revolution, but was willing to learn.
“I’ll straight up get armed. I want to learn how to shoot, and go train,” he told the Veritas undercover journalist. “I’m ready for the f***ing revolution…I’m telling you. Guillotine the rich.”
Weissgerger went on to stress that “the guillotine is very humane, too—more humane than the Gulags.” Although, he later made clear that he wasn’t against sending people to Gulags either.
“Let’s force them (billionaires) to build roads…rebuild our roads, rebuild our dams, rebuild our bridges. Let’s force them to do that,” Weissgerger said. “Well, the Gulags were founded as re-education camps … what will help is when we send all the Republicans to the re-education camps.”
Weissgerger later claimed that he learned to admire the Soviet Union while in college.
“The Soviet Union was not horrible, he declared. “I mean, for women’s rights the Soviet Union is I think the most progressive place to date in the world.”
He also touted the White Sea–Baltic Canal (also known as Belomorkanal)—as a triumph of the Gulag system. As American Greatness noted last week, according to official records, between 12,000 and 240,000 laborers died during the construction of the 141 mile ship canal, which opened in 1933.
Weissgerber said that he spent a whole semester in college learning about it.
“The whole point of the Belomorkanal, there were no machines allowed,” he explained. “They forced the people to dig with shovels and hoe the whole canal, right?”
Weissgerber told a story about how the Belomorkanal labor camp reformed a thief from Soviet Georgia who would go on to denounce capitalism as a corrupt system that created criminals like him.
Weissgerber gushed that the worker turned into one of the “leading workers” on the project. He went on claim that people from the United States traveled to the Soviet Union to work on the glorious Belomorkanal. Not surprisingly, he left out the part about the massive number of people who died while working on the project.
Weissgerber told the Project Veritas journalist that he had been radicalized from a very young age by both of his parents.
His father, he explained, is a Belgian Marxist who participated in the May 1968 civil unrest in Paris, France.
Weissgerber added that his mother is “really left as well, but she can’t make her views known because she works for WBUR.”
WBUR is an NPR affiliate in Boston, Massachusetts.
A History Channel documentary on the Belomorkanal labor camp (below) explains how the Soviet government under Stalin rounded up some of the wealthier peasants and used them for propaganda purposes.
Stalin put them to work 16 hours a day on “grandiose public works projects” like the Belomorkanal. The Gulag system “came to be synonymous with the [Nazi-run] concentration system,” history professor James Heinzen notes.
It’s stunning and shameful that there are actually people in the United States today who would like to see their political opponents forced into similar camps.
When asked to comment on his prior remarks, Weissgerger refused and scurried past the Veritas reporter into the Sanders campaign office. Another Sanders Campaign official repeatedly screeched “GET OUT!”
BREAKING: @PVeritas_Action tried getting a comment from Martin Weissgerber on his way into the Charleston, SC @BernieSanders office today.
Martin remained silent and Field Organizer @VictoriaFelder7 slammed the door screaming "GET OUT!"
