Lev Parnas Demands that A.G. Barr Recuse Himself

Indicted businessman Lev Parnas has demanded, via a court filing by his attorney, that Attorney General William Barr recuse himself from the ongoing investigations into the origins of the “Russian collusion” conspiracy theory, CNN reports.

The lawyer, Joseph Bondy, claimed in his court filing that Barr’s involvement has led to “actual harm to Mr. Parnas,” without citing any evidence, and accuses Barr of having a conflict of interest. Even the CNN report admits that Bondy’s filing “doesn’t specify how Barr’s purported conflict of interest might have contributed to any delay in discovery” of any further evidence in the ongoing case.

Parnas, who is currently facing charges of campaign finance fraud, has made numerous unsubstantiated allegations against President Trump’s lawyer and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, claiming without evidence that Giuliani had knowledge of a quid pro quo between the Trump Administration and the Ukrainian government.
