Morning Greatness: Iran Launches Hype Missile Attack on U.S. Military Bases in Iraq

Good Wednesday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president receives his intelligence briefing

Iran learns its lesson, responds with ballistic “attack”

Trump has made his point and Iran has heard it. Last night, Iran launched some sloppy ballistic missiles, paid for with the American tax dollars Obama sent the Iranians to make his “deal,” at two U.S. military bases in Iraq.

A Pentagon spokesman estimated that there were more than a dozen ballistic missiles launched from Iran beginning at about 5:30 p.m. EST. A defense official told ABC News that 10 of the missiles hit Al Asad, one struck Irbil in northern Iraq and four “failed in flight.”

“We warn the Great Satan, the arrogant American regime that any new invasions and aggression will result in more painful and pounding responses,” Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated.

“We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression,” he added.

Iran is capable of much more. The attack on the Saudi oil refinery and drones they took down showed what they are capable of so this is mostly a “safe” demonstration they can hype to their people back home. There were no American casualties and no Iraqi casualties. But that’s not what the Iranian media and their U.S. terror proxies in our media reported. MSNBC featured NBC News Tehran bureau chief Ali Arouzi who shared:

“We’ve just getting reports now that a second wave of rocket attacks have been launched from Iran. The IRGC was saying that Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader of this country, was in the control center coordinating these attacks. This is, uh, this bit I’m not sure about,” Arouzi said, before sharing the unverified propaganda claims, “but Iran state media is claiming that 30 U.S. soldiers have been killed in this attack. Now, this is not confirmed, this is just coming from Iranian media, but we have just stepped over the precipice, Chris.” MSNBC never contacted the administration to confirm their report.

Of course, this isn’t “finished.” Iran has proxies in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and obviously, in the U.S. media. I’m certain they will pull more shenanigans. But they won’t be killing or attacking any Americans. The media is revisiting its Vietnam strategy, fomenting fear and glamorizing America’s bloody enemies with the hopes of crippling Trump’s foreign policy. Watching the coverage of the missile attack last night, you could feel the sadness and disappointment as nightly court jesters had to report there were no casualties following the attack. The media loves dead soldiers they can use as propaganda. My colleague Deb has a nice roundup of the media’s clownery.

Never forget, the media doesn’t think killing an American or an ambassador or attacking an embassy deserves a response.

Meanwhile, Texas governor Abbott said that Texas is facing 10,000 cyber attacks per hour coming from Iran. Stay vigilant. Maybe Iran could take down Twitter.

Following Iran’s missile attack, President Trump tweeted: “All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning.”
