Comedian George Lopez Responds to Iran Trump Bounty with Offer to ‘Do it for Half’

The Daily Caller reports Comedian George Lopez was trending on Twitter late Sunday night/ Monday morning after making a comment declaring “We’ll do it for half,” on the rumored $80 million bounty placed on President Donald Trump’s head, which was reportedly made by the eulogist at the funeral procession for General Qassem Soleimani broadcast on Iranian state television. It was unclear if the call officially came from the Iranian government.

Trump on Thursday ordered the drone strike that killed Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani near a Baghdad airport. Both the president and the Department of Defense defended the killing as an action against “imminent” threats posed by the Quds general to U.S. diplomats and service members.

During Soleimani’s funeral in the city of Mashdad, the unidentified eulogist could be heard addressing the crowds, “We are 80 million Iranians. If each one of us puts aside one American dollar, we will have 80 million American dollars, and we will reward anyone who brings us [Trump]’s head with that amount,”

Lopez was responding to Chicano Worldstar, a news media outlet with 176K followers on Instagram, who shared a post on the social media site on the situation with the caption, “#Iranian authorities have put a bounty on American President Donald Trump’s head during the televised funeral of General #QasemSoleimani after he was assassinated last week. What are your thoughts?”

Lopez wrote, “We’ll do it for half.”

Lopez’s post left many on social media wondering if the U.S. Secret Service was looking into the matter:
