CNN’s Brian Stelter, deliberately omitted the bombshell story of ABC News burying the story of Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest in his rundown of the year’s top media stories, Fox News reports.
The story was broken in November by the investigative journalist group Project Veritas, where leaked audio of ABC’s Amy Robach revealed that the network went out of its way to ignore the story of the billionaire’s first arrest on charges of sexually abusing minors. Robach admitted in the audio that Epstein’s connections to such prominent individuals as former President Bill Clinton may have been a factor.
Stelter’s list of the year’s top stories included a series of “Me Too” scandals that involved sexual misconduct by other powerful figures, but not Epstein.
Epstein was arrested again earlier this year for additional charges of sex trafficking. He was found dead in his cell in New York City while awaiting trial, allegedly as a result of suicide but with speculation persisting that foul play may have been involved. Some of his most prominent connections include Clinton and the United Kingdom’s Prince Andrew.
