Morning Greatness: House Democrats Might Hold Articles of Impeachment Hostage

Good Thursday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The President and First Lady  deliver remarks at a Christmas Reception

Trump impeached

Merry Christmas. Yesterday, after a lengthy pageant, the Democrats in the House impeached the president for winning the 2016 election. There were no Republicans that voted for impeachment but a few Democrats voted against. Tulsi Gabbard voted present. The articles that passed the House did not allege any crimes despite the Democrats repeatedly referencing vague and non-specific crimes. If the Democrats claim the president has committed crimes, why didn’t they include them in the impeachment articles? Instead the the two articles are for exercising his executive authority and a fantasy charge of obstruction of congress.

I have no doubt the moderate Democrats were threatened so they would vote with the caucus or else they would get a primary challenger and financial and logistical support would be withheld from the party for their re-election.

The strangest thing about the process is watching the Democrats pretend to be somber, as if they haven’t been trying to impeach Trump since election night. We all saw the pictures of the pink hat lunatics screaming for impeachment at the Women’s March the day after Trump was inaugurated. They also kept referencing the constitution during their floor speeches and in the media but the Democrats have have been working to negate parts of the constitution that don’t sport their woke agenda for as long as I can remember. Now they want to “defend” it? Many of them referenced American’s founders, and spoke about how they had a mandate to impeach based on their commitment to the founding fathers’ vision. What? These clowns usually call the founders a bunch of misogynist, patriarchal, slave-owning white supremacists. After the first article of impeachment passed, the Democrats started to cheer but Pelosi shut them down because it wasn’t consistent with their sham veneer of a sober, prayerful impeachment.

Nancy Pelosi threatens to withhold impeachment articles from the Senate

Speaker of the House Pelosi suggested the House might not send over the articles of impeachment to the Senate for a trial because she doesn’t think the Senate process will be fair. WHAT?!? Is she serious? (She is.) The House conducted a ridiculously unfair impeachment process, she is out of her mind.

“We cannot name managers until we see what the process is on the Senate side, and we hope that will be soon,” Pelosi said. “So far we haven’t seen anything that looks fair to us, so hopefully it will be fair.” When asked about this possibility before the vote, McConnell replied “I’m in no hurry.”

I’m sure Pelosi thinks she is putting pressure on the Senate to do things to her liking but McConnell will not play that game.

The White House responded to Nancy’s threat. “House Democrats have run a fatally flawed process with fake facts, and now they want to deny the President his day in court with another procedural maneuver that proves anew they have no case,” said Eric Ueland, Trump’s top congressional liaison to Congress.

Nancy’s threat shows how insincere the Democrat-led impeachment process has been all along. First we heard how it was so important to move fast. Fast, fast, fast. Now Nancy’s going to sit on her hands. So I guess it’s not so critical to expedite? The Democrats just want to be able to say that Trump was impeached but deny him the ability to be acquitted in the Senate. We will see how this plays out.
