McDonald’s Security Guard in U.K. Calls Customer ‘Stupid White Boy’

In the United Kingdom, several customers were harassed, threatened, and called racial slurs by a security guard at a McDonald’s, according to Fox News.

In a McDonald’s in Gipsyville, England, a group of young men sat down at a table and began ordering using the McDonald’s app on their smart phones. While doing so, a security guard approached the table and ordered them to leave, accusing them of not really using the app.

One of the men, Cameron Sande, began defending himself and his friends, which made the guard aggressive. At that point, the guard started punching their table and called Sande a “stupid white boy.” When the manager arrived and tried to calm the guard down, Sande says that the guard “was trying to scare me into not telling” the manager about the situation, repeatedly saying “shut up, shut up.”

A McDonald’s spokesperson eventually released a statement saying that they were “aware of an incident in our Boothferry Road restaurant,” and that the security guard in question was “from a third party supplier.” They also said that “we will be following up with the supplier to ensure they are aware of such standards we expect in our restaurants and take action to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future.”

At this time, there has been no word on whether or not the security guard was fired or otherwise disciplined for his conduct.
