Report: Anti-Trump Whistleblower Tied to Former Vice President Joe Biden

According to multiple media reports, the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) told the House Intelligence Committee last month that the anti-Trump “whistleblower” is a registered Democrat who has a significant professional tie to a 2020 Democrat candidate.

Now it has been revealed that the 2020 candidate is none other than former vice president Joe Biden, who is himself mired in a Ukrainian corruption scandal of his own involving his son, Hunter Biden.

The Washington Examiner reported on Thursday—based on tips from intelligence officers and former White House officials—that Biden must be the Democrat in question because the anti-Trump complainant is “a career CIA analyst who was detailed to the National Security Council at the White House and has since left.”

On Sept. 26, the New York Times reported that he was a CIA officer. On Oct. 4, the newspaper added that he “was detailed to the National Security Council at one point.”

Michael Atkinson, the Intelligence Community’s inspector general, told members of Congress that the whistleblower had a “professional tie” to a 2020 Democratic candidate. He had written earlier that while the whistleblower’s complaint was credible, he had shown “some indicia of an arguable political bias … in favor of a rival political candidate.”

A retired CIA officer told the Washington Examiner, “From everything we know about the whistleblower and his work in the executive branch then, there is absolutely no doubt he would have been working with Biden when he was vice president.”

As an experienced CIA official on the NSC with the deep knowledge of Ukraine that he demonstrated in his complaint, it is probable that the whistleblower briefed Biden and likely that he accompanied him on Air Force Two during at least one of the six visits the 2020 candidate made to the country.

A former Trump administration official told the Examiner that Biden’s work on foreign affairs at the White House had likely put him into close proximity with the whistleblower.

“This person, after working with Biden, may feel defensive towards him because he feels [Biden] is being falsely attacked. Maybe he is even talking to Biden’s staff,” the former official said. “Maybe it is innocent, maybe not.”

The whistleblower alleged last month that Trump improperly pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate potential 2020 election rival Joe Biden, whose son Hunter once sat on the board of Burisma Holdings, a notoriously corrupt Ukrainian energy firm. The allegation helped spark House Democrats to launch a formal impeachment inquiry into the president, who has steadfastly denied any wrongdoing.

However, according to documents obtained by investigative journalist John Solomon, Ukrainian officials opened a probe into Burisma months before President Trump’s phone call with Zelensky.

“The U.S. government had open-source intelligence and was aware as early as February of 2019 that the Ukrainian government was planning to reopen the Burisma investigation,” Solomon told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday. “This is long before the president ever imagined having a call with President Zelensky,” he added, noting Petro Poroshenko was still Ukraine’s president at that time.

According to Solomon, the reopening of the probe into Burisma involved, in part, “unusual transactions” in its accounts.

U.S. banking records show Hunter Biden’s American-based firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, received regular transfers into one of its accounts — usually more than $166,000 a month — from Burisma from spring 2014 through fall 2015, during a period when Vice President Biden was the main U.S. official dealing with Ukraine and its tense relations with Russia.

Biden reportedly made a half dozen trips to Ukraine during his eight years as President Obama’s “point man” on the Ukrainian crisis.
