Andy Ngo: Antifa Assaulted Me Just ‘a Stone’s Throw Away’ From Portland Police Precinct and Sheriff’s Office

Andy Ngo, the Quillette editor who was savagely beaten by a mob of antifa goons during a demonstration in Portland on Saturday, described to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Monday night how the assault happened just “a stone’s throw away from Portland’s most important institutions of the rule of law,” underscoring the inexplicable fact that “rule of law” was completely absent when antifa was viciously attacking him.

Ngo said he was documenting the antifa-organized demonstration when masked agitators chanting “no hate, no fear” laid into him within sight of “the court houses, the sheriff’s office and the central police precinct in Portland.”

The police, who were supposed to be monitoring rival right-wing and left-wing rallies that day, were nowhere to be found, according to Ngo.

He told Carlson that as he was being beaten, he kept wondering where the police were.

The journalist went on to describe the brutal assault in detail.

He said that after he was suddenly bashed on the back of his head from behind, it took him a few seconds to realize that he was under assault.

“When I realized what was happening, it was too late,” Ngo explained. “A mob of people all dressed in black and wearing masks started beating me with their fists, and some of them used objects to hit me.”

He estimated that up to 20 people were involved in the attack and added that he was beaten so much, he dropped his GoPro camera, which was then stolen.

“When I thought that it was over, I was wrong,” Ngo added. “I put my arms up to try to shield my face, as well as to signal to them that I was surrendering and that I wasn’t there to fight, but that really signaled to them to be more aggressive,” he explained.

At that point, Ngo said they started hurling milkshakes (possible laced with cement) and eggs at his face, blinding him.

“And I was hit some more and kicked some more,” he continued. “All of this time I kept thinking, ‘where are the police?’

Ngo  said he was eventually able to stumble away and as he was losing his balance, he had to sit down in front of the court house.

From there, a medic SWAT team told him that in order to get an ambulance to take him to the hospital, he would have to walk to the police precinct, which he said would force him to walk through the antifa mob again.

He said that at the hospital, he was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage.

In the wake of the horrific attack, a number of journalists actually took to social media to ridicule Ngo, suggesting he was asking for it and/or deserved what he got. As Carlson correctly pointed out, many liberal media personalities in the past have actually “defended and promoted” antifa.  Grabien created a montage of media figures doing just that:
