‘Nazi’ ‘Hunters’ Distract from the Socialist Threat

If, like most reasonable people, you think the wisest thing to do when assured there is no real Nazi threat in America is to breathe a sigh of relief, then you’d make a poor leftist.

A proper leftist knows that peddling the impending Nazi takeover of the Republican Party is the surefire way to advancement in Democratic Party politics and a ticket to the talk show circuit. Trump rose to power not because of their incompetence and bad ideas, but because there’s a growing threat of white nationalists and supremacists.

Put simply, Republicans are secret Nazis, as they’ve been warning all along.

It started with a report from perhaps one of the least-trustworthy and most-laughable organizations in the country: The hate group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The report in question claimed that a “record number” of white nationalists are running for office in 2018, while failing to mention that this “record number” was—at the time the report was published—a grand total of eight. Eight white nationalists across the entire country, in seven different states, is easily on par with Hitler 2.0 coming to power, right?

Political reality has already taken much of the “sting” out of this sad attempt to bite the GOP. As it becomes clear that it was a foregone conclusion that none of these candidates had any chance at winning, three of these eight (in Iowa, Arizona, and California) have already lost their primaries. Of the five remaining, it appears that even the Left has come around to realizing that one candidate—Nathan Larson in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District—could not realistically be exploited for their anti-GOP agenda since he is an independent, not a Republican.

So that brings the frightening total down to four as Larson was dropped from SPLC’s updated list.

Just like that, now only half of the original total of “Nazis” are still actually running for office across the country. But of course, this hasn’t stopped the Left from insisting that the four candidates who remain merit serious alarm that requires giving long-form, in-depth profiles of some of them.

To make up for the embarrassment of admitting that the subject of their processed fears has just been halved, the Left has now resorted to attempting to brand more mainstream candidates “white nationalists” of some sort. With Larson gone, the Left has resorted to calling Virginia’s GOP nominee for the U.S. Senate, Corey Stewart, a white supremacist without any evidence.

In a shameful attempt to save face for their friends at the SPLC, The Huffington Post went on the most reckless Nazi-labeling spree you’re likely to see. While acknowledging the reality that there are only four legitimate white supremacists running for office around the country, HuffPo attempted to pad its list and reassure readers that they are justified in their fears by slapping the “Nazi” label on such figures as former congressman and 2010 Colorado gubernatorial nominee Tom Tancredo, and longtime Maricopa County Sheriff and Arizona U.S. Senate candidate Joe Arpaio.

They even have the audacity to use this slur against a handful of congressmen up for re-election this year, including Steve King (R-Iowa), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), and Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), as well as congressman and Trump-endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Lou Barletta (R-Pa.).

Because if your actual enemies are nonexistent, or they are so few and far between as to be negligible, just can just re-label other people for who you don’t much care and make enemies of them, right? If there aren’t enough legitimately fringe figures for you to screech about and galvanize your political base with, just say define fringe differently.

All of this is obviously meant to counter the real rising extremists in our country at the opposite end of the political spectrum.

We’re supposed to pay attention to four “Nazis” in order to avoid seeing the doubling of outright socialists elected to office across the country over the last few years (from 15 to 30), backed by the Democratic Socialists of America. When Democratic Party leaders are not fully embracing their new poster child for socialism, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her far-left positions such as abolishing ICE, they are trying to distract us from this rising scourge of Leninist weirdos by creating an illusion of an equally-meteoric and substantial rise in “neo-Nazis.”

Never mind that Republicans routinely condemn the less-than-half-a-dozen actual “Nazis” running for office every single chance they can. Never mind that none of these fringe candidates have any chance of actually winning anything. The Left still wants you to believe that our society is on the verge of unraveling because of the mere existence of these few nutjob candidates, while, in reality, it is their own fringe that seeks to do all they can to destroy civility and discourse in America today.

While the number of “neo-Nazis” running in a single year was easily halved by a lack of interest from the party that supposedly harbors them, the number of outright socialists running in the same span of time has doubled as a result of ongoing and explicit support from Democrats.

Which fringe is more fearsome, again?
