The myriad of foreign policy “experts” who claim continuously (and against all evidence) that President Trump is a disaster for U.S. foreign policy are looking pretty foolish right now. Obviously, the results of the president’s historic meeting with Kim Jong Un remain to be seen, but I don’t think any reasonable person can deny that what’s happening currently has the potential for an awful lot of good.
For Trump’s critics, a summit which they would have applauded as a Kissingerian stroke of genius were it pretty much any other president is condemned because Trump. Cue the moralists on the Left and NeverTrump Right, who are so blinded by their hatred of the president that anything that even hints that Trump isn’t the tyrannical monster they claim he is must be stamped out of existence:
