These are the words of Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) in August 2015, when Obama was president:
I will vote to disapprove the agreement . . . It is because I believe Iran will not change, and under this agreement it will be able to achieve its dual goals of eliminating sanctions while ultimately retaining its nuclear and non-nuclear power.
And this is Chuck Schumer now, reacting to President Trump withdrawing from the Iran deal:
There are no reports that Iran has violated the agreement . . . To me, the right thing to do would have been to try and come up with our allies with an agreement on those issues and let the nuclear part of this continue as is because it’s not being violated in any way.
